In my previous blog post, we covered the basics of what an electric vehicle (EV) is and how they work. I discussed some of the benefits of owning an EV and answered a few questions from readers. This week, let's take a closer look at one of the most popular types of EVs on the market today: plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). As you may know, PHEVs are a type of hybrid vehicle that can be plugged into an electrical outlet to recharge the battery. When the battery is fully charged, the PHEV can be driven like a regular electric car. However, if the battery runs low, the PHEV can also run on gasoline like a regular hybrid car. This makes them a great option for people who want to get all of the benefits of owning an EV but are worried about being able to drive in areas where there isn't a good charging infrastructure.
