Bader Fund Application Form PDF Details

The Franz and Virginia Bader Fund opens its doors annually to visual artists over the age of 40, living within 150 miles of Washington, D.C., with the promise of financial support to foster their artistic growth. However, this opportunity is not extended to filmmakers, video artists, and performance artists, emphasizing the Fund's focus on traditional visual arts. Prospective applicants are asked to demonstrate their potential to benefit as artists from such a grant through a meticulous application process that requires a blend of personal and professional information. Required materials include two sets of digital image files of the artist's recent works—highlighting the emphasis on current artistic endeavors—alongside a comprehensive application form covering a wide spectrum of the artist's profile, from personal details to professional experience and achievements. Additionally, a proposal outlining the impact of the grant on their work and life is deemed crucial, underlining the personalized approach the Fund adopts towards its beneficiaries. Completeness and honesty in the application are underscored, with the requirement to affirm the truthfulness of the information provided under penalties of law. Furthermore, instructions for submitting supplementary materials like resumes, proof of age, and a list of images, ensure a thorough vetting process. The entire application package, including supporting materials, must be mailed by a stipulated deadline, with specific instructions on mailing, highlighting the Fund's structured and detailed approach towards grant allocation. This system not only ensures the selection of candidates who genuinely stand to benefit from the grant but also fosters a transparent and fair application process.
