The custodial parent or guardian of an unmarried or unemancipated minor may, after the minor has been issued a driver's license, request that the minor's driving privilege be cancelled. When DMV receives this signed request, the minor's driving privilege will be cancelled in accordance with Virginia Code § 46.2-334.B.

Once this cancellation becomes effective, the minor's driver's license will not be reissued until six months elapses from the date of the cancellation notice or the minor reaches age 18, whichever
