Doordarshan Audition Form PDF Details

The pathway to appearing on Doordarshan, India's premier public service broadcaster, begins with a well-defined audition process encapsulated within the Doordarshan Audition form. This document not only outlines the procedures but also sets the criteria for artists aspiring to showcase their talent on television. The audition is adjudicated by the Local Audition Committee (LAC), which includes the Director of the concerned Doordarshan Kendra or their representative, two non-official members with expertise in the relevant field, and the Producer responsible for the Dance Programme at the Kendra. Artists are evaluated on the quality of their performance and visual presentability, with successful candidates being categorized up to 'B' grade directly by the LAC. For higher categorizations, including the top and 'A' grades, recommendations are sent to the Director General of Doordarshan for further review by the central Audition Board. A nominal application fee is involved, though exemptions can be granted, and the audition process requires live performance recorded for assessment. Moreover, the rules clarify procedural specifics for artists seeking category upgrades, re-auditions, and exemptions from the audition process, ensuring transparency and fairness. Appeals against the decisions of the LAC are addressed with the Director General's judgment being final, emphasizing the structured yet critical nature of this stepping stone for artists dreaming of television exposure.
