The 511NR form, or Oklahoma Nonresident/Part-Year Income Tax Return Form for 2012, is an essential document for individuals who did not reside in Oklahoma throughout the entire tax year but earned income from Oklahoma sources during the part of the year they were there. It requires taxpayers to provide detailed personal information, including Social Security numbers and residency status, to accurately calculate tax liabilities based on their Oklahoma-sourced income. This form is designed to adjust the income reported to the state, considering various sources such as wages, interests, dividends, and business income, while also allowing for specific subtractions and additions unique to Oklahoma tax regulations. Moreover, the form caters to various filing statuses and contains sections for calculating deductions, exemptions, and applicable credits, including those for child care and earned income. The process for amending returns is addressed, highlighting the need for meticulous documentation, such as enclosures of the Federal Amended Return and particular schedules detailing adjustments, deductions, and credits specific to Oklahoma's tax laws. Taxpayers looking to claim refunds or report additional taxes due are guided through detailed calculations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with Oklahoma's tax requirements. The form also facilitates donations to Oklahoma organizations directly from the taxpayer's refund, underscoring the state's effort to support charitable causes through its tax collection process.
