Navigating the process of obtaining a student parking permit at Los Alamitos High School involves understanding and adhering to specific requirements and regulations laid out in the Parking Permit Contract form. This crucial document serves as a binding agreement between the student (and their parent or legal guardian, if the student is not the legal owner of the vehicle) and the school, underscoring the importance of responsible vehicle use on campus. Each year, students, specifically juniors and seniors, are given the opportunity to purchase a parking permit from the Los Alamitos High School Activities Office, which is mandatory for all vehicles parked on school premises. However, acquiring a permit does not automatically guarantee a parking space. The contract outlines critical details such as the allocation of parking permits, the visible display of permits on vehicles, non-transferability of permits, procedures for replacing lost or stolen permits, designated student parking hours and areas, as well as the repercussions of violating these regulations. Furthermore, it emphasizes the role of the Los Alamitos Police Department in patrolling parking areas and enforcing rules, including the possibility of ticketing or towing vehicles not in compliance. Filling out the contract requires current and complete information including the student's name, driver's license number, vehicle information, insurance details, and acknowledgement of the parking and traffic rules established by the school, thereby ensuring a well-organized and safe parking environment for all student drivers.
