FACTOR 1: LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Language points are calculated according to documented proof of training and ability in one or both of Canada’s official languages, English and French. If you are proficient in both, choose as first language the one you are more comfortable using. You must submit official results of a recent MPNP-approved language test as proof of language proficiency (except native speakers*). “CLB” refers to Canadian Language Benchmarks/Niveaux decompétencelinguistiquecanadiens(NCLC). For information on approved tests, and how test scores relate to CLB levels indicated below, use the language tools on our website. Ex: CLB 5 (14 points) requires IELTS scores of at least listening 5.0, reading 4.0, writing 5.0, speaking 5.0.
