The Joseph Tauber Scholarship Program stands as a testament to the ongoing commitment to education and the growth of its community by offering substantial financial aid to the children of 1199SEIU members. Designed for students bound for accredited undergraduate programs, this scholarship targets the offspring of members affiliated with employers who contribute to the National Benefit Fund or the Greater New York Child Care Fund. To qualify, these members must have availed of Wage Class I benefits for a minimum span of one year. The applicant pool is exclusive to high school graduates, those currently in post-secondary education, or prior scholarship recipients, with the stipulation of full-time enrollment, which is defined as taking at least 12 college credits each semester. In addition, applicants must be younger than 23 years at the commencement of the Fall 2014 semester. A significant aspect of the program is its policy on scholarship renewal; recipients from previous years are not automatically granted this benefit and thus must reapply annually to be considered. To partake in this opportunity, one needs to complete and submit the 1199 Joseph Tauber Application form by the set deadline. Moreover, the scholarship is versatile, with awards tailored to the financial need of the student and encompasses support for a wide array of study fields, with special attention to those in the nursing program through the 1199SEIU Next Generation RN Scholarship. Therefore, for families vested in the academic futures of their children, understanding the intricacies of this form and the requirements of the scholarship program it represents is critical in navigating their path towards higher education.
