3 186A Form PDF Details

Understanding the complexities of wildlife conservation and regulation can be a formidable task, especially when it involves the procedures and paperwork necessary for the lawful acquisition and disposition of migratory birds. Among these critical documents is Form 3-186a, a document designed, revised, and implemented by the U.S. Department of the Interior and specifically managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Division of Migratory Bird Management. This form serves as the Federal Fish and Wildlife Permit Application, a document vital for various activities related to migratory birds under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. The form covers a comprehensive scope of information required for the legal transfer, capture, and disposition of migratory birds, including details about the species, band number, age, and source of the birds, as well as information on both the sender and recipient of the bird(s). It encapsulates meticulous stipulations for different scenarios such as gifting, sale, loan, release, escape, theft, or death of the birds, establishing a crucial link between wildlife management activities and federal regulatory frameworks. Beyond its immediate purpose, the form also integrates privacy, legal, and information accuracy concerns, advising applicants on the confidentiality of their submissions and warning against the submission of false statements, thus underscoring its importance not only in the regulation of avian species but also in upholding the integrity of federal wildlife management processes.
