The California State Board of Equalization (BOE) has released a new form, Form 762, for taxpayers to use when claiming fuel tax credits. The BOE says that the new form will make it easier for taxpayers to claim the credit, and that it is now available on its website. The new form must be used for all fuel tax credits claimed on or after January 1, 2018. Taxpayers who have already claimed fuel tax credits using an older form, such as Form 540/541, are encouraged to file an amended return using Form 762.
