Choosing a career is a big step for anyone. Are you making the right career choice and the right college? Here are some questions that you might want to ask, to better inform your decision:

YOUR INTERVIEW PORTFOLIO

After you have answered the questions above satisfactorily, we will invite you to a short interview. If you took Visual Art in Grade 12, either bring your portfolio when you come for your interview,

or bring six A4 photocopies or six jumbo photos of a variety of items in your portfolio.

We want to see work that shows versatility, ability to observe, ability to represent (light, texture...), spatial perception and creativity.

If you did not take Visual Art in Grade 12 OR if you don’t have a portfolio, produce and bring 6 drawings:

2 of natural objects (eg: hand holding a pencil, flower ...),

2 of manufactured objects (eg: upturned kitchen chair, telephone ...),

2 of your own choice.

All drawings to be done in pencil on A3 or A4,

Use your pencil like a brush

(ie. don't just draw the outlines, show the shade and texture of the surfaces),

All drawings to be done from first-hand observation of real objects

DON’T copy from pictures or from memory or use your imagination and NO manga, dragons,fairies
