In Part 1: Vehicle information, enter the Year, Make, Model and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Under Where in North Carolina will the vehicle be garaged/kept?, enter the Street address, City, State and ZIP.

Part 2: Owner information

In Part 2: Owner information, enter the Full legal name of vehicle owner (First, middle, last, suffix), the Vehicle owner's driver license number and the State of issuance.

Check applicable non-resident status.

Check Active-duty service member stationed in North Carolina, Spouse of an active-duty service member stationed in North Carolina, or Dependent child of an active-duty service member stationed in North Carolina.

If you check Active-duty service member stationed in North Carolina, Spouse of an active-duty service member stationed in North Carolina, or Dependent child of an active-duty service member stationed in North Carolina, enter the Military ID Number.

Check Student at a North Carolina college or university (must provide student ID or other proof of enrollment).

Making a knowingly false statement on an application for a certificate of title is a Class 1 Felony.

You will garage/keep the vehicle in North Carolina for six or more months out of the year.

You own, lease, or otherwise lawfully occupy the address where this vehicle is garaged/kept.

If you change the address where you garage/keep your vehicle, you will notify NCDMV of the updated address within 60 days.

If 1) your military or military dependent status changes, or 2) you no longer garage/keep the vehicle in North Carolina for at least 6 months out of the year, you will not be eligible to maintain North Carolina title or registration.
