California Form Tr 0106 PDF Details

In the snowy regions of California, safely navigating the roads means tire chains often become a necessity. The California Department of Transportation has established a system to ensure that motorists have access to professional assistance with tire chain installation through the TR-0106 form, a Chain Installer Permit Application/Release of Liability. This form serves a dual purpose: it is the initial step for individuals seeking to provide tire chain installation services on state routes during the snow season, and it acts as a legal document outlining the terms, conditions, and liabilities associated with this service. Applicants are required to provide personal and business information, acknowledge the fees involved, and agree to a set of conduct and workmanship conditions. They must also attend a mandatory orientation, prove their proficiency in tire chain installation, and agree to indemnify the State of California from any claims arising from their work. This thorough process ensures that chain installers are well-qualified, knowledgeable of the risks involved, and legally prepared to offer their services, reflecting the state’s commitment to road safety and legal compliance.
