MDCN Registration Form PDF Details

Navigating the complexities of maintaining a professional status in the medical and dental fields in Nigeria demands meticulous attention to the requirements set by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). The council issues a stern reminder to all medical, dental, and registered alternative medicine practitioners, alongside their employers, about the critical and legal necessity of renewing their annual practising licence. This process is not just a formality but a stringent legal requirement under the Medical and Dental Practitioners Act. The act mandates the payment of practising fees before the turn of each year, making it clear that non-compliance could lead to significant legal consequences, including prosecution. The fees vary, reflecting the practitioner's experience level, type of practice, and even considering concessions for veterans in the profession. Expatriate doctors and those adding new qualifications face their specific protocols and fees, ensuring they meet the standards required to offer medical services in Nigeria. Interestingly, the MDCN doesn't just stop at fee collection; it enforces standards by requiring practitioners to acquire official guidelines on registration, ethics, and professional conduct. Furthermore, detailed provisions are made for various circumstances, such as provisional and temporary registration, emphasizing the council's comprehensive approach to uphold medical professionalism. The announcement makes it clear that the renewing process, while routine, carries significant legal weight and is an essential part of maintaining the integrity and quality of health care services in Nigeria.
