The National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) is responsible for wildland firefighting operations in the United States. One of the key responsibilities of NWCG is to develop and maintain consensus-based standards and guidelines for wildland firefighting. NWCG also offers a number of training courses to help firefighters become certified in specific areas of expertise.
