I hereby apply for a visa/entry clearance to the United Kingdom. The information I have given is complete and true to the best of my knowledge. Guidance for Part 8: Visit Information

8.1If you are not a national of the country in which you are applying, what permission do you have to stay in that country?

Please provide evidence of your immigration status if you are not a national in the country where you are applying, e.g. a residence permit, visa, green card.

8.2Are you travelling with anyone?

Answer Yes/No. Please provide the full name, date of birth and nationality of the people you are travelling with. If you are travelling in a large group please just give the details of the group leader.

8.3Do they already have a visa for the UK? Answer Yes/No/They don’t need one.

Your studies

8.4Have you been enrolled or unconditionally accepted on a course of study in the UK?

Answer Yes/No. Please provide documentary evidence to support this i.e. a letter from the school or university.

8.5Name of the course you will study?

Please state the subject and course you will study.

8.6What do you expect to gain from the course (e.g. what qualiﬁcation or certiﬁcate will you get?)

Please provide details as requested.

8.7When does the course begin?

In the DD/MM/YYYY format.

8.8When does the course end? In the DD/MM/YYYY format.

8.9Name and full address of the institution

Include the name, full address and postal code of the institution you intend to study at.

8.10 Email address of institution where you will study

Please provide the email address/website of the institution you will study at in the UK.

8.11What do you hope to do when you have ﬁnished all your studies and your visit to the UK?

Please provide details as requested.

8.12Have you studied in the UK before?

Answer Yes/No. If yes, provide details of where you have studied in the UK before. Include the name of the institution, address, course studied, qualiﬁcations gained and dates you studied there.

Financing your studies

8.13Is your accommodation provided as part of your course? Please provide either the name, full address and telephone number of the accommodation ofﬁcer at the institution you intend to study at or the full address of where you will be staying.

8.14What is the total cost of the course?

Please provide details of the costs of all of the following:

8.22Is your ﬁnancial sponsor in the UK?

Answer Yes/No. If your sponsor(s) are in the UK please give details of their permission to stay in the UK. Please provide supporting evidence of this by supplying a copy of their bio data page from their passport (the page with their photograph) and their visa (if they have one) or other permission to be in the UK.

8.23What is your exact relationship to your ﬁnancial sponsor?

Please provide details of your exact relationship to your sponsor, e.g. father/mother’s sister/friend etc…

8.24What is your ﬁnancial sponsor’s occupation or source of income?

Please provide details of where your sponsor’s money comes from e.g. their job title, money received from investments.

8.25What is your ﬁnancial sponsor’s montly income after

tax?

Please provide details of your sponsor’s monthly salary after any money has been deducted e.g. tax, pension contributions.

8.26Do they have any savings or other readily available money e.g. income from stocks and shares? Please provide details This must be related to money that your ﬁnancial sponsor has in his/ her direct control and not from a business account for any company that they are involved with. Please state currency e.g. US Dollars or UK Pounds Sterling.

8.27How much money will they give you?

Please state currency e.g. US Dollars or UK Pounds Sterling.

Answer Yes/No. Please state what amount you have paid and explain what it has been paid for.

8.28What family does your ﬁnancial sponsor have e.g. spouse, dependent children or other dependent relatives (parents, parent-in-law)?

This is only dependent family members, that is anyone that lives in the same household or relies on your ﬁnancial sponsor for support.

8.29How much of your ﬁnancial sponsor’s money is spent on his/her dependants?

Please state how much money your ﬁnancial sponsor pays out every month to support his/her dependants.

8.30Has your ﬁnancial sponsor sponsored anyone else wishing to enter or remain in the UK (including visa applicants) in the last 5 years?

Answer Yes/No. You should provide full details of these people including their names, dates of birth and details of the ﬁnancial commitment your ﬁnancial sponsor has made to them.

8.31Do they still sponsor these people?

Answer Yes/No. If No, please enter date when the sponsorship ended.

8.32 Do you have any friends or family in the UK?

Answer Yes/No. If ‘Yes’, please provide the full name, nationality, address, telephone number , their permission to stay in the UK and explain how they are related to you e.g. “My mother’s brother’s son”

Deﬁnition of a family member

A “member of the applicant’s family” is any of the following persons

(a)the applicant’s spouse, father, mother, son, daughter, grandfather, grandmother, grandson, granddaughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, nephew, niece or ﬁrst cousin; (NB: “ﬁrst cousin” means, in relation to a person, the son or daughter of his uncle or aunt);

(b)the father, mother, brother or sister of the applicant’s spouse;

(c)the spouse of the applicant’s son or daughter;

(d)the applicant’s stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother or stepsister; or

(e)a person with whom the applicant has lived as a member of an unmarried couple for at least two of the three years before the day on which his application for entry clearance was made.

In addition:

•฀฀ Children฀ adopted฀ under฀ an฀ adoption฀ order฀ recognised฀ in฀ UK฀

law are treated as if they are the natural children of the adoptive parents; and,

•฀฀ The฀ Immigration฀ Appeals฀ (Family฀ Visitor)฀ Regulations฀ 2003฀ pre-date฀ The฀ Civil฀ Partnership฀ Act฀ (2004).฀ Civil฀ partners฀ are฀

considered “a member of the applicant’s family” in the same way

as฀a฀spouse฀for฀the฀purposes฀of฀the฀Family฀Visitor฀Regulations
