11 1 Form PDF Details

At the heart of civic engagement and the exercise of freedom of assembly within Northern Ireland lies the intricate process of organizing public processions, a practice meticulously governed by the 11/1 form as stipulated under Section 6 of the Public Processions (Northern Ireland) Act 1998. This form serves as a vital notice of intention for any group or individual aiming to hold a public parade, embodying the legal prerequisites designed to maintain public order and safety. It meticulously outlines the responsibilities of organizers, from providing detailed information regarding the procession’s route, purpose, and timing, to specifying the number of participants and the presence of bands or collections. The form emphasizes the critical requirement of submitting this notice well in advance of the planned event – at least 28 days prior – to avoid legal repercussions or the denial of permission to proceed. Furthermore, it underscores the importance of compliance with a Code of Conduct, aiming to foster mutual respect and understanding between parade participants and the wider community. This adherence is not merely advisory but is considered by the Parades Commission in the evaluation of future event notifications. With sections dedicated to organiser's details, procession specifics, and control arrangements, the 11/1 form acts as a comprehensive guide to ensure that all parades contribute positively to the social fabric, emphasizing the balance between the right to assemble and the collective interests of the community.
