If you fail to give your consent, your application for beginner's permit, driver's license, or identification card application must be denied by law.
Age 18: If you are 18 when you apply, or once you turn 18, the SCDMV will send your information to Selective Service.
Already registered: If Selective Service already has your information, they will not register you again.
Online: you can renew your credential or obtain a duplicate and give your consent online if you are a US citizen and are at least 18 years old.
Minors: an authorized adult signs for the minor in accordance with SC Code of Law 56-1-100(A)(1-7). Reference SCDMV's Consent for Minor form 447-CM.
