Form Mve 64 PDF Details

In early October 2017, the IRS released a new form, Form Mve 64. This form is used to claim exemption from the foreign earned income and housing exclusions, as well as the foreign tax credit. The form must be filed by taxpayers who have met one of the following conditions: they have been living outside of the United States for 330 days or more in any 12-month period that ended during or within the tax year; their main place of work was outside of the United States for at least 330 days in any 12-month period that ended during or within the tax year; or they had income from sources inside and outside of the United States and their tax liability on this income is computed separately. If you meet one of these conditions, you must file Form Mve 64 in order to claim your exemptions. Failing to do so could result in significant penalties. For more information on this new form and how to file it, please consult with a qualified accountant or attorney.
