General Instructions about
(A)
Academy, Goa and Dr. Leo Barnes Pre
On successful completion of the training, the candidates will be eligible for issue of CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate)
(B) DURATION:
The duration of this RESIDENTIAL Training Course is 6 (six) months. Course commence on 01st January and 01st July every year.
(C) ELIGIBILITY:
Candidates should meet the following eligibility criteria: -
1. Age Limit
Age on the date of joining the training not less than 17 ½ years and not more than 25 years.
2.Educational Qualification
a)Pass with Aggregate 40% marks in 10th standard from a recognized Board with
English, Science and Mathematics as subjects and with minimum 40% marks in English language at 10th or 12th.
OR
b)Pass with more than 40% aggregate marks in 12th science standard from recognized board with English, Science and Mathematics as subjects & with minimum 40%
marks in English language at 10th or 12th.
3.Physical Standards
As per M.S medical examination for seafarers rules 2000 as amended from time to
time
Eyesight: 6 x 6 in each eve without visual aids. Normal colour vision
Height: Minimum 5ft. 2 inches or 158 cms
Weight: Minimum 105 lbs or 50 kgs
4.Communication Skills
Adequate ability for communication in spoken and written English
D)APPLICATION DETAILS
1)Application is required to be made in the prescribed form only.
2)If you have applied once there is no need to reapply for subsequent batches. If you have not received call letter then write a letter stating your application number for renewing your application for next batch.
(E)ENCLOSURES
1)Photo Copies of the following certificates are required to be enclosed with the application
a)10th or 12th Passing Certificate & Marksheet
2)Original certificates shall have to be produced at the time of interview.
3)Any candidate who produces tampered or bogus certificates will be dismissed and fees will be forfeited.
4)Latest Passport size colour photograph to be affixed on right top corner of the application.
5)Photo copy of passport if held. Passport to be compulsorily obtained prior to the interview.
(F)ATTESTATION
All the above enclosures and the photograph affixed on the right corner of the application should be duly attested by Head of School / college.
(G) GENERAL
The application is required to be forwarded to:- NUSI/ITF Trust for Indian Seafarers Post Box No. 146
GPO, Mumbai- 400 001.
The envelope should be marked "APPLICATION FOR
NOTE:
1.Canvassing or using influence in any manner whatsoever will result in disqualification of the candidate.
2.If you are weak in English language or passed qualifying exam in vernacular medium then you are advised to undergo English course so that you can understand and pass the training. You are required to produce proof of having undergone the English course on joining training.
3.On joining the Academy, candidates who do not follow academy rules and regulations will be dismissed & fees will be forfeited.
4.After joining academy, fees or part thereof will not be refunded if candidate discontinues the training.
Application form available at a payment of Rs.150/- In cash or Demand Draft in favor of "NUSI/ITF Trust for Indian Seafarers" payable at Mumbai.
