The PWD 143M form is managed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) and handles a range of vessel record services for Texas boat owners.
Registration Renewal. Use the 143M form to renew vessel registration for a two-year period. Fees depend on vessel length and class. Include a check or money order made payable to TPWD.
Document Replacement. Request replacement of a lost or destroyed title, registration decals, or Certificate of Number ID Card. A quick title service is available for an additional fee. Indicate whether the title is attached, lost, or not yet printed.
Owner and Vessel Updates. Correct or update owner name, mailing address, citizenship status, and vessel description details including hull color, motor type, horsepower, serial numbers, and hailing port city.
Lien Holder Updates. Add or update lien holder name and address. The lien holder signature is required in Section S of the form.
All sections must be completed in blue or black ink with original signatures. Consult the TPWD fee chart before submitting. If you recently purchased a vessel, a boat bill of sale may be required alongside the PWD 143M for ownership transfer. Submit the completed form with supporting documents and fees to your local county tax assessor or TPWD office.
