What Is the Charles Rutenberg Client Form?
The Charles Rutenberg Client Form is a formal document used by real estate agents in the CRR network to transfer a client from one agent to another. When an agent joins the network and refers a client, this form records the agreement terms and the referral payment percentage the referring party will receive after a successful closing.
How to Complete the Form Step by Step
- Enter the referring agent's details. Write the full name, license number, and contact information of the agent transferring the client.
- Enter the recipient agent's details. Write the name, license number, and contact information of the agent receiving the client.
- Record the client's information. Include the client's full name, phone number, email address, and current home address.
- Agree on the fee percentage. Both agents must agree on the percentage of gross commission that will apply as the payment once the transaction closes.
- Set the referral date. Note the date the client is being referred. The agreement covers any transaction that closes within one year of this date.
- Collect both broker signatures. Both the referring managing broker and the receiving managing broker must sign and date the form. Please make sure all signatures are complete before you submit.
Referral Fee and Payment Terms
The referral fee is expressed as a percentage of the recipient agent's gross commission on the eventual sale. Payment is typically due within 30 days of closing.
