The DBPR Form TS 6000-7 is a document receipt used in Florida timeshare transactions and required under Florida Statute Chapter 721. Developers and sellers must obtain a signed copy before a timeshare sale can be considered complete. The form was last revised in September 2001 and applies to both multisite timeshare plans and single-site or component site timeshare plans.
By signing this receipt, the purchaser confirms delivery of each of the following materials:
A key provision of the form is the 10-day cancellation right. Florida law gives purchasers the right to cancel the timeshare contract without penalty within 10 calendar days from the date of signing or the date of receiving all required documents, whichever is later. Any attempt to waive this right is void under Florida law.
If the public offering statement is later amended in a way that materially and adversely affects the purchaser, the buyer has an additional 10 calendar days to cancel after receiving written notice of the changes. Cancellation must be delivered in writing to the developer at the address listed in the purchase contract.
Sellers who fail to provide all listed documents before obtaining a signed receipt may expose themselves to regulatory penalties. An incomplete or improperly obtained receipt can also give the purchaser grounds to cancel the contract beyond the standard window.
