In an action in which legal custody or physical placement is contested, a parent is required to file a proposed parenting plan.
Filing: within 60 days after the court waives mediation or within 60 days after the mediator notifies the court that no agreement has been reached.
Mediator: a parent is required to submit a proposed parenting plan to the mediator at least 10 days before the initial mediation session.
Good cause: a parent who fails to file such a plan may lose the right to contest the plan submitted by the other parent unless good cause for the delay can be shown.
