Once your application is approved, you can add vehicles to your account online through the VIIM System or by submitting the Supplemental Application (IRP 1B).
Place of business: to apply for registration under IRP in Virginia you must either have an established place of business in Virginia or be a Virginia resident.
Residency: if you are registering based on residency, DMV will need three proofs that you are a resident of Virginia.
Submission: completed applications and supporting documentation may be faxed, emailed, mailed or dropped off at a DMV Customer Service Center.
Effective date: registration will expire 12 months from the IRP account effective date.
Certification: if you sign on behalf of the Authorized Representative, a Power of Attorney (POA) will be required.
