Registering a Motor Vehicle in Delaware

If you purchase a vehicle from a private seller, you will have 30 days to register your vehicle. If you purchase a vehicle from a dealer, the registration process is automatic, but you should confirm it with the dealership. If you are a new resident and are relocating to the state, you will have 60 days to register your vehicle.
