The AB-92 form is submitted to ABSA by candidates seeking certification as a Welding Examiner in Alberta. Eligible applicants must hold a recognized engineering degree in Materials, Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Welding Engineering Technology. A Grade "B" Pressure Welder certificate or a First Class Power Engineers' Certificate of Competency also qualifies.
Examination papers cover four subjects: Welding Processes and Filler Metals, Metallurgy and Materials, Quality Control, and NDE and Weld Evaluation. Each paper requires a separate fee. Only the payment methods listed on the AB-92 form are accepted by ABSA.
Submit the completed form with certified supporting documents to ABSA's Edmonton office. Falsifying any statements carries serious legal consequences. For related ABSA certification documents, see ABSA Form AB-41A and ABSA Form AB-66.
