The Pallet Identifier is a DoD logistics form required for all palletized air cargo shipped through Air Force and Army airlift units. Introduced in September 1998 as a replacement for AF Form 2279, it is the standard pallet documentation form used at military air terminals worldwide.
The form collects pallet identification number, aircraft configuration, originating and destination station codes, net and gross weights in pounds, cargo securing methods (straps, chains, devices, net sets), miscellaneous cargo contents, cubic volume, and scale weight certification. All fields must be filled out completely and accurately before cargo is loaded for transport.
