The DD Form 2798 is the official Application/Permit for Use of Space on the Pentagon Reservation. Any individual or organization seeking to hold an event, exhibit, performance, ceremony, or other activity on Pentagon grounds must submit this permit application to Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) for approval.

The form requires applicants to provide the following information:

• Sponsor name, title, phone number, and organization
• Detailed description of the proposed activity and its purpose
• Exact location within the Pentagon Reservation
• Proposed date, start time, end time, and estimated duration
• Approximate number of persons expected to attend or participate
• Nature of any materials, displays, or equipment to be brought on-site

Applicants must also attach supporting materials such as cover letters, drawings, samples, and written descriptions of any items intended for display or distribution. All submitted materials are reviewed under 32 CFR Part 234, which establishes the rules governing use of space on the Pentagon Reservation.

WHS officials evaluate each application based on the type of activity, the proposed location, and alignment with current Pentagon security and operational requirements. Approval is not automatic. Permit requests must be submitted well in advance of the event date to allow adequate review time.

Once approved, the permit specifies the authorized location, dates, and any conditions the organizer must follow. Activities conducted without a valid permit may be denied access to the premises.
