PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING REGARDING THE APPLICATION PROCESS

1.All completed applications must be submitted electronically or via the postal service to the UJ Sport Bursary Administrator by 30 SEPTEMBER of the current year.

2.If applicants obtain provincial, regional or national colours after 30 SEPTEMBER, the additional information must be e–mailed to the address given below.

3.Your bursary application will only be considered if this form is completed IN FULL and the required documentation (mentioned in Part 5) is attached.

4.The submission of a sport bursary application form DOES NOT guarantee the allocation of a sport bursary.

5.All current sports bursary holders must APPLY ANNUALLY for bursaries.

6.Late applications will be considered only in exceptional cases.

7.The bursary amount is a CONFIDENTIAL matter between the bursar and the university.

8.Allocation of a bursary is subject to the level of sporting participation and academic results. This may vary between sporting codes.

UJ SPORT BURSARY REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO PAYMENT

1.The bursary applicant must be a registered full time student at UJ for a three/four year course (Undergraduate/Post Graduate National Diploma or Degree).

2.Registration fees (1st payment) are for the bursary holder’s personal account and will not be deductible from his/her bursary. No exceptions will be made.

3.It will be expected of the bursary holder to maintain and/or excel in his/her sport code, thus contribute to the prestige of UJ sport overall.

4.Payment terms (instalments) are subject to individual sport codes.

5.The bursary package is subject to a contract that is signed with UJ Sport and to qualify the bursary holder must at least:

a.Pass 60% of his/her subjects in November of the current year in order for the first payment of the bursary to be credited to his/her account (only applicable to senior students);

b.Pass 60% of his/her subjects in June of the bursary year in order for the second payment to be credited to his/her account.

I hereby confirm that I have read the abovementioned rules and regulations regarding the UJ Sport Application & Payment Process and I am aware of what is required of me should I be allocated a bursary by UJ Sport.
