However, if your U.S. traveling document is about to expire, the National Passport Processing Center offers you to fill out the Passport Renewal Application, also recognized as Form DS-82.
DS-82 application is a multi-faceted document that covers several aims. The primary purpose of the form is to allow eligible citizens to apply for the U.S. passport renewal without filing the paperwork in person.
The claimant needs to submit authentic and valid data to apply remotely. However, if any info is considered doubtful or any eligibility condition is shattered, the candidate should appear in person and have an interview with the acceptance agent.

Also, the applicant should indicate whether they prefer to get a standard book or a large book. Identify the Applicant
Here, you should enter your last and first name, including the middle initial. Ensure to use a separate box for each letter or digit in further sections.
Specify the Birthdate and the Place of Birth
Use Units 2 and 4 to enter your date and place of birth. Remember to use a separate box for every digit. When specifying the place of birth, please submit the city and state if born in the U.S. For residents born in a foreign country, please enter the city and county of birth.
Identify the Applicant’s Sex
Use Unit 3 to checkbox the applicable variant.
Submit the SSN
Use the nine digits of this section to print the Social Security number. These data are required by the Department of Treasury to check whether the applicants are liable to refund any debts, as in some cases, such encumbrances may disqualify an individual from claiming a U.S. passport.
Share the Contact Data
Here, the applicant for the U.S. Passport renewal needs to indicate their email address and contact phone number in case any issue arises or the department requests additional documents to support the application.

List Other Names and Aliases
If you have ever used any other names, including maiden and birth names, aliases, previous marriage names, complete Unit 9. The application form dedicates two lines to fill in the required info. Attach a Valid Photo

Render the Data of the Expired U.S. Passport
Complete Unit 10 to submit the needed information as it appears on the expired U.S. passport book and (or) card. Accurately enter the following data line by line:
Submit the Change of Name (If Applicable)
If your most recent passport document has a different name from that, you bear now, ensure to specify the change in Unit 11 of the application. Here, you have two alternatives to choose from:
