Philadelphia PDF Forms
As one of the oldest cities in the United States, Philadelphia carries a unique historical heritage and architectural allure. This city has displayed its age and character through its form, primarily in two distinct ways: cyclopean-style masonry buildings (also known as coursed rubble) that were common during colonial times; and much later, through grooved stone work typically used on larger 19th Century government buildings. Understanding these forms can help us to appreciate better the history of Philadelphia’s architecture—and indeed much of our nation’s history as well!
