The CH-120 is the official California Judicial Council form for submitting a formal response to a Civil Harassment Restraining Order petition. This 4-page document is also called the Response to Request for Civil Harassment. The petitioner uses form CH-100 to open the case. The CH-120 is your written answer to that petition.
Review all information in the CH-100 before completing the CH-120. Your reply must address every provision listed in that document. The CH-120 must be submitted at least two court days before the scheduled hearing.
What the CH-120 Covers:
After completing the CH-120, deliver a copy to the petitioner or their attorney before the hearing date. Use the civil harassment packet to document that you delivered a copy to the petitioner. If a Temporary Restraining Order notice was already issued, review the restraining order notice for any additional instructions before completing your CH-120.
Related forms you may need include the CH-109 form for temporary emergency protection and the CH-110 form if a temporary order was already issued in your case.
